This intensive four-part course transforms you into a proficient practitioner capable of building high-quality bowtie risk models and implementing a robust Critical Control Management (CCM) programme that prevents material unwanted events and catastrophic incidents.
Designed for safety managers, risk engineers, process safety specialists, and operational leaders responsible for managing major risks in high-hazard industries (mining, oil & gas, chemicals, aviation, rail, manufacturing, and construction).
Delivered across four practical sessions, the course combines in-depth training on the BowTieXP methodology with real-world CCM implementation using actual major-incident case studies and the ICMM Critical Control Management framework. You will build live bowties, identify critical controls, define performance standards, and establish verification and reporting systems.
A dedicated module explores how AI tools can now automate bowtie population, monitor barrier health in real time, identify degrading critical controls, and predict potential loss-of-control scenarios.
All training is delivered by accredited BowTieXP trainers and active CCM practitioners with 10+ years of experience implementing bowtie and critical control programmes in global mining, oil & gas, and heavy industry operations. You will receive direct feedback on your own bowtie models and critical control designs throughout the course using real organisational risks.
